Flange cracking stems from uneven counterbore seating, un-chamfered counterbore corners hitting the fillet, excessive clamping torque, or heavy impact hammering during setup.
Poor alignment after bush replacement indicates that the mating guide pin is bent/worn, plate dowel positioning is inaccurate, or the plate bore itself is distorted or out of square.
Replace the bush if bore wear exceeds clearance limits, deep galling/scoring marks exist, the flange is cracked, or the inner bore has become oval or bell-mouthed.
Clean out old grease and carbonized residue, measure internal bore diameters at multiple depths with pin gauges, inspect oil grooves for blockages, and check bore walls for scoring.
